“The International Paris Air Show plays in instrumental role in the global aerospace industry, fostering business growth for aerospace companies in Mississippi and around the world,” said Mississippi Development Authority Executive Director Glenn McCullough, Jr.
The International Paris Air Show is the largest and longest-running aerospace trade show in the world. The event draws approximately 150,000 trade visitors, more than 2,300 exhibitors and 296 official delegations from 91 countries. The 2015 event resulted in a total $130 billion in orders for participating companies.
Lucrative prospects and target sectors of the aerospace industry for the show include: aerospace services, aircraft construction, assembly, sub-assembly, maintenance/repair operations, weapons and defense systems, airport equipment and services, navigational aids and on-board equipment systems, aerospace materials and production equipment and software.
Grant assistance is available for up to two representatives from qualifying companies to help defray costs associated with participation. Funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Mississippi State Trade Expansion Program reimburses eligible businesses up to 50 percent of travel costs, including airfare, lodging and per diem. Additional services include free pre-market mission research and business potential assessment, scheduled appointments with qualified buyers covered at 75 percent, a customized itinerary and logistical support and assigned booth space.
Space is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and early registration is recommended. The deadline to register is April 7.
